Who processes your data
CATWALKS, a SASU (French single-member simplified joint-stock company) with share capital of €500, registered with the Nanterre Trade and Companies Register under number 921 505 053, whose registered office is at 99 rue du Point du Jour, 92100 Boulogne-Billancourt, France, is the data controller.
Catwalks is a recruitment platform specialising in retail, fashion, beauty and luxury. We process your data for two purposes: to offer you openings that match you, and to approach you directly when an opportunity matches your profile.
The data we process
- Identity and contact details
- Surname, first name, email address, telephone number, city of residence.
- Your CV
- The document you upload, in full. It is required to complete your registration, as it is the source of your profile.
- A CV obtained before you registered
- As part of our recruitment business, we may hold your CV before you create your account: it was sent to us during an application process, or collected by our sourcing team on the basis of our legitimate interest in presenting opportunities to you. If you register at our invitation, a copy of that CV is pre-filled on your profile: it is shown to you from the very first screen, you can view it, replace it with an up-to-date file in one step, and it is deleted with your account. The CV we held before you registered, however, remains in our candidate database, which is separate from your account: deleting your account does not erase it. For any question or objection, write to us at the contact address below.
- Your professional profile
- Work experience, companies, job titles, dates, responsibilities, education, skills and languages, extracted from your CV.
- Your preferences
- Job-search status, availability, target role, preferred location, contract type, working hours, remote work, minimum salary, ideal environment.
- Your applications
- The openings you have applied to and their progress.
- The source of your first visit
- The address of the site that brought you to us (search engine, social network, email) and the page you landed on. With your consent only (see the “Cookies” section), we record it once, on your first visit, and we then keep it on your account as well as on each application; without that consent, it is not recorded. It does not change if you return by another route. This information is used solely to measure our distribution channels internally: it is never shared, and plays no part in the review of your application.
- Technical data
- Connection logs and browsing data necessary for the operation and the security of the service.
Your CV is analysed automatically
When you upload your CV, the document is sent in full to Google (Gemini service) for automated analysis. This analysis builds your profile: it extracts your work experience, the companies, the dates, your education, your skills and your languages.
When your profile matches the need of a client Maison, we present your CV and your profile information to them.
This processing makes no decision on your behalf. It prepares your profile; you can correct every piece of information from your account, and what you correct is never overwritten by a later analysis.
Your searches, your preferences, your alerts and your steps with employers
- Your email alerts
- An alert is a search that you save: the country of the search, the occupation or keywords, the location and the filters chosen. You create it from a search, or at the end of your sign-up, where an alert is offered for each occupation you chose, switched on by default, which you can untick. If you had an account before this version of the service, Catwalks may have created alerts from the preferences you had provided: active if you received our job emails, paused otherwise. We email you the new openings that match it on Tuesdays and Fridays (Tuesdays and Thursdays in countries where Friday is a day off), only when there is something new. These emails are sent by our email provider, which receives their content (the name of your alerts and the openings). Every email carries a one-click unsubscribe link, which stops all alert emails without deleting your alerts, and you can edit, pause or delete each alert from your account.
- Your recent searches
- If you are signed in, we keep your last 10 searches on your account, so that we can offer them again on all your devices. You can clear them, and they are included in the export of your data. A recent search is not an alert: it triggers no email. If you are not signed in, your last 10 searches stay in your browser's local storage, on this device only: this list is never sent to us (only the search you run reaches us, to display its results). It stays on the device after you sign in and remains visible to anyone using it; you can clear each search from the search bar, or the whole list by clearing the site's data in your browser.
- Your search preferences
- The occupations, cities, contract types, remote work preference and minimum salary that you provide. They are used to prefill your search, to rank the openings shown to you by how well they suit you, to show on each opening what does or does not match your preferences, and to create your alerts. The Catwalks team also sees them in your file and uses them to offer you opportunities that suit you. Your minimum salary is never shown to employers: only you and the Catwalks team can see it. You can change them at any time, and they are included in the export of your data.
- The location of your searches
- The location you enter (city, district or postcode) is converted into approximate coordinates by our own database of places, in order to keep the openings located around that place and, when openings are ranked by your search or your preferences, to take their proximity into account. We do not use your device's geolocation. The country of your connection, inferred from your IP address by our hosting provider, is only used to suggest a default country of search and site language; your IP address is not stored on your account. The country of search of your preferences and alerts, however, is stored there.
- Your steps with employers
- When, as a registered user, you continue your application on the employer's website from an opening, we record this step: the opening, its title, the employer, the country, the date of the first and last click, and the number of clicks. You find it on the opening's page, and the Catwalks team sees it in your file. It is not an application: Catwalks sends nothing to the employer, and what you enter on its website is governed by its own privacy policy. Your steps are included in the export of your data.
- Typed searches, for suggestions
- We plan to record the searches typed into the search bar, in order to suggest the most frequent searches in each country. Once this feature is launched, these searches will be recorded anonymously, without any account or device identifier, and grouped by country; a search will only be offered as a suggestion after it has been typed a minimum number of times.
Your alerts, your recent searches, your search preferences and your steps with employers are processed for the performance of the contract: they are part of the service you use. The use of your preferences and your steps by the Catwalks team, to offer you opportunities and to measure the activity of the service, is based on the legitimate interests of Catwalks, as shown in the table below. An alert is kept, with the list of openings it has already sent you, until you delete it. The history of alert emails sent (dates and number of openings), your recent searches, your preferences and your steps are kept for as long as your account exists. All of this data is deleted with your account.

Who receives your data
We do not sell your data. It is accessible to the Catwalks team, to the client Maisons to whom we introduce you, and to the following technical service providers:
| Provider | What it receives | Location |
|---|---|---|
| Neon | Database: profile, preferences, applications | European Union (Frankfurt) |
| Vercel | Website hosting, application logs, and aggregated audience measurement (page views, without cookies) | United States |
| PostHog | Your journey on the site: pages viewed, openings consulted, searches (volume, never their content), registration, sign-ins, profile steps, CV uploads, applications and availability updates, together with your traffic source in reduced form (campaign, originating site without its full address, entry section). Only with your consent, without cookies. If you are signed in, these measurements are linked to the technical identifier of your account (never your name, your email or the content of your CV) and are deleted along with it | United States |
| Google Cloud Storage | Your files: CV, photo | European Union |
| Google (Gemini) | The full content of your CV, for analysis | Outside the European Union |
| Google Maps | The location you enter, in order to standardise it | Outside the European Union |
| Brevo | Your email address and first name, in order to send messages | France |
Transfers outside the European Union are governed by the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.
How long we keep them
We keep your data for as long as your account exists.
You can delete your account at any time. Deletion is permanent: your identity, your profile, your career history and your files are erased, and no reactivation is possible. There is no temporary deactivation.
The applications you have sent remain on file with the Maisons concerned, without your identity: we know that an application existed for an opening, no longer who sent it. This is what allows those Maisons to keep a record of their hiring without retaining your data.
Your rights
You have the right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection and data portability.
Most are exercised directly from your account: there you review and correct your profile, your work experience, your education, your skills and your preferences, you replace your CV, you export your data and you delete your account.
For any other request, write to us from the contact page. You may also lodge a complaint with the CNIL (the French data protection supervisory authority).
Cookies
We use trackers: cookies and your browser's storage. Those that the service needs do not require your consent; the others are only set or read with your consent, which you give, refuse or withdraw at any time from “Manage cookies”, at the bottom of every page. Your choice applies to catwalks.io and the Journal, and is kept for six months. No tracker is used for advertising targeting or to track your browsing on other sites.
Necessary for the service, without your consent
- Your sign-in session, kept in your browser's local storage until you sign out.
- The CW_LANG and CW_MARCHE cookies, which remember the language and country you chose, for one year.
- The cw_consentement cookie, which remembers your cookie choices, for six months.
- Your browser's session storage, cleared when the tab is closed: the page to return to after signing in, your position in a list of jobs, an application in progress.
- If you are not signed in, your recent searches are kept in your browser's local storage. They are never sent to us and are only used to offer them to you again on this device.
- Cloudflare Turnstile, loaded on the sign-up and sign-in pages to protect them from bots.
- Sentry, which reports the site's errors to us without recording your sessions or storing anything in your browser; its data goes through our own domain.
- Google Maps, loaded when you enter a location in a form, to suggest it and standardise it.
Audience measurement exempt from consent
Vercel Web Analytics counts visits and page views without cookies and without identifying you, and the Journal counts its readings in the same way. This measurement is on by default and stays on if you choose “Reject all”; to object to it, untick it in “Manage cookies”.
We also count, without cookies and without identifying you, how many times this choice is offered and the answers given to it (“Accept all”, “Reject all”, “Customise”), per day and per country, to know what share of visits our consent-based measurements do not see. This count reads and writes nothing on your device.
Subject to your consent
- Journey analysis (PostHog), described in “Who receives your data”. Only with your consent, we also keep in your browser's local storage the site that brought you here and the page of your first visit (cw_premier_contact); refusing deletes it.
- Search statistics (Ahrefs Web Analytics): the pages through which you arrive from search engines.
- Third-party maps and videos (Google Maps, YouTube) on the Maisons' pages: without your consent, a map is only shown if you ask for it.
